[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 23일 동두천시 무한돌봄센터는 동두천경찰서와 협력하여 복지사각지대를 연중 발굴할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

이번 발굴은 생계형 범죄자 및 범죄피해자, 그 밖에 경찰이 치안 활동을 통해 찾아낸 복지사각지대를 대상으로 상담을 실시하여 맞춤형 복지 서비스를 제공하기 위해 최근 추진을 결정했다고 했다. 

그리하여 오는 8월부터 12월까지 동두천경찰서에서 위기상황이 의심되는 가구 중 개인정보 제공에 동의하면서도 아무런 복지자격이 없는 시민들을 무한돌봄센터에 제보하면 실제 어려움을 세심하게 살필 계획이라고 했다. 

무한돌봄센터 관계자는 “코로나19의 여파로 발생한 취약계층의 어려움을 경찰서와 머리를 맞대어 해소하고, 앞으로도 긴밀한 협력이 지속될 수 있도록 소통을 강화해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
