[김준호 기자 = 정선군] 정선군에서는 오는 27일 가리왕산 올림픽 국가정원 유치 기원 항골숨바우길 개통식 및 걷기 행사를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

항골숨바우길은 청정 자연속에서 트레킹과 힐링하는 시간을 보내기 위해 지역 주민은 물론 산행객, 관광객들의 발길이 이어지고 있는 곳이다.

항골숨바우길은 전체 노선 7.7㎞로 3.4㎞ 진입 구간(1구간)과 백석봉 등산로와 연결되는 4.3㎞ 찰한골 구간(2구간)으로 나누어져 있다.

총사업비 8억원을 투입하여 나무를 운반하던 옛길을 활용하여 무너진 돌길을 복원하고 위험한 구간에는 친환경 목재데크를 설치하였다

모래소, 거북바위, 왕바우소, 제2용소를 지나면서 이끼와 원시림의 비경을 체험할 수 있으며 안전사고 등 비상시를 대비하여 주변임도와 연결되는 비상 진·출입로 3개소가 설치되어 있다.

이날 식전공연 이후 최승준 군수, 전영기 군의회의장, 기관단체장, 지역주민, 행사 참가자 등이 참석한 가운데 개통기념식을 갖고 2시간동안 걷기행사를 진행한다. 

걷기행사 참가 희망자는 정선군 홈페이지에 게시된 신청서를 작성하여 이메일, 팩스, 방문접수, 당일 접수를 통해 행사에 참가할 수 있다.

최승준 군수는 “올림픽 국가정원이 성공적으로 유치될 수 있도록 군민여러분의 관심과 성원을 당부드리며, 항골숨바우길이 전국적인 힐링 명소로 거듭날 수 있도록 탐방객의 다양한 수요를 반영해 더욱 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 말했다.
