[김택곤 기자=정선군] 정선군은 7일 군청 소회의실에서 평창군과 '올림픽 국가정원 공동운영 협약식'을 개최했다.

이번 협약은 2018 동계올림픽 개최도시인 정선군과 평창군이 유기적인 협력관계를 구축하여 올림픽 국가정원의 성공적인 조성 및 공동 운영에 기여하고, 올림픽 유산의 지속가능한 활용과 강원특별자치도 신성장동력을 창출하는 것을 목적으로 체결되었다.

정선군은 지난 10월 6일 열린'올림픽 국가정원 조성 및 올림픽 레거시 국가전략 토론회'에서 제시된 올림픽 국가정원 공동운영 방안을 적극 수용키로 하고, 지난 10월 중순 평창군과 강릉시에 공동운영 협약을 제안한바 있으며, 이에 평창군의 적극적인 참여로 본 협약이 이루어지게 되었다.

또한 이날 최승준 정선군수 및 심재국 평창군수, 관계 공무원들은 현재 정선군에서 시범운영하고 있는 가리왕산 케이블카를 탑승해 올림픽 국가정원 조성이 추진될 가리왕산을 둘러보았다.
