[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 9월 15일부터 10월 31일까지 북부지방산림청은 '무분별한 임산물 굴·채취로 인한 산림훼손을 막기 위해 가을철 산림 내 불법행위 특별단속을 실시한다'라고 밝혔다.

이번 특별단속은 본격적인 가을철 임산물 수확기를 맞아 전문채취꾼 및 등산객들의 불법채취를 막기 위하여 송이·잣 등의 자생지 및 임도·산림 인접지 등을 집중단속 하며, 산림보호구역 내 훼손 등 기타 위법행위 또한 단속할 예정이고 단속반은 6개 국유림관리소 소속 산림특별사법경찰(19명)과 산림보호지원단(19명)으로 구성된 산림사범수사대가 총 동원되어 드론, 액션캠 등을 활용해 과학적이고 체계적인 단속을 진행한다. 임산물 불법채취 적발 시 관련법에 따라 최대 5년 이하 징역이나 5천만원 이하 벌금형에 처해진다.

임하수 북부지방산림청장은 “불법임산물 굴·채취 및 산림보호구역 내 훼손 등은 무엇보다 지속적인 관심이 가장 중요하다”며 “적발 시 처벌을 받을 수 있는 만큼 우리 산을 지키고자 노력하는 국민들의 자발적인 참여를 당부한다”라고 말했다.
