[김준호 기자=정선군] 정선군(군수 최승준)은 지난 6일 지역인재 집중 양성 과정인 징검다리스쿨 제3기 학생 모집을 완료하고 7일부터 새학기 운영에 들어갔다.

징검다리스쿨은, 지난 2021부터 시작한 지역인재 집중 양성 과정으로, 성장 의지가 뚜렷한 학생을 엄격한 기준에 따라 선발하여 교육비 전액을 정선군에서 지원한다. 

선발된 학생들은, 분야별 전문가들이 지도하는 다양한 융합 수업을 경험할 수 있으며, 학기말에는 학생별로 상세한 멘토링보고서가 제공된다. 

징검다리스쿨 제3기는, 초중등인재 과정에 62명, 교양 과정에 60명 등 총 122명의 학생들이 참여하고 있으며, 월요일부터 토요일까지 사북공공도서관과 인재발전소에서 각각 수업을 진행한다.

인재 과정은, 초등과 중등 각각 3단계로 구분하여 7개 영역의 통합 교육이 이루어지며, 교양과정은 초등 저학년 반과 고학년 반으로 나누어 탐구 입문, 코딩 입문, 영어 입문 등 기초 교육을 제공한다.

정선군은, 올해 새학기부터는 징검다리스쿨 학생들을 위해 통학버스를 운행할 계획이어서, 원거리 거주 학생과 학부모들에게 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다. 

한편, 징검다리스쿨 로봇팀은 지난 1월 12일~14일까지 코엑스에서 열린 “2022-2023 퍼스트 레고 리그(FIRST LEGO League)”코리아 대회 챌린지 부문에 출천해 “골바람 지붕발전소”라는 혁신적인 소규모 풍력 발전 솔루션을 제안하여 “뛰어난 혁신상”을 수상, 큰 주목을 받았다.

황인욱 사북공공도서관장은 “정선군이 꾸준히 투자하고 있는 지역 인재 양성 교육의 새로운 방향과 흐름이 인구 소멸 위기에 처한 지역에 새로운 탈출구를 만드는 계기가 되기를 바라는 마음으로 교사들과 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.
