[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1월 19일 포천시 일동면행정복지센터는 손병철 씨가 설 명절을 맞아 취약계층에게 전달해 달라며 이웃돕기 쌀 10kg 100포를 사회복지공동모금회에 기탁했다고 밝혔다. 

일동면은 사회복지공동모금회에 기탁 처리를 하고 쌀을 관내 기초수급자, 차상위, 기타 저소득 100가구에 가구당 1포씩 전달할 예정이며, 손병철 씨는 지난 2021년 설과 추석 명절을 앞두고 쌀 10kg 200포를 후원하는 등 10년 넘게 어려운 이웃을 위해 꾸준하게 기부를 하고 있다고 했다.

손병철 씨는 “어려운 시기를 함께 겪고 있는 이웃 중에 먹거리가 부족하여 더욱 힘든 분들을 돕고 싶은 마음에 쌀을 기부하게 되었다. 어려운 분들께 잘 전달되었으면 좋겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
