[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 1일 재단법인 의정부시평생학습원은 재단 3층 대강당에서 ‘개원 2주년 기념식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 기념식에는 재단 이사, 관련 기관장 및 장애인 관련 단체장 등 내빈 70여명이 참석하여 개원 2년 동안의 성과를 공유하고, 앞으로 나아갈 새로운 미래를 그리기 위해 마련됐다고 했다.

특히 이번 행사에는 장애인 평생학습도시 지정, 경기도형 발달장애인 평생교육지원센터 사업 선정 등 공공부문 사회적 가치 실현 및 발달장애인 인식개선, 발달 장애우들의 도전과 치유를 응원하기 위해 발달장애 청년들로 이루어진‘꿈꾸는 댄서’와 비장애 배우들로 이루어진‘학교에 연극을 심는 사람들’의 하모니 공연팀이 초청되어 그 의미와 감동을 더했다고 했다. 

송원찬 원장은 기념사를 통해 “재단 개원 이후 의정부는 평생교육 분야에서 최고의 도시로 인정받은 아주 뜻깊은 해로 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 걸어갈 평생교육의 미래에 저희 재단이 중심이 되어 펼쳐나가겠다”며, “하반기 주민자치프로그램 이관을 원활히 수행하여 시민들이 언제 어디서나 전문적인 평생학습을 받을 수 있도록 하겠다.”는 포부를 밝혔다.
