협약에 따라 양주시와 서울디지털대학교는 지역주민의 연수, 학사학위 과정 입학을 통한 교육, 지역 인재양성·육성사업, 기타 사업에 부수하는 인적·물적 교류 등에 협력하기로 했고, 서울디지털대학교에 입학하는 지역주민에게는 입학금 면제, 수업료 감면 혜택이 제공되며 노인복지, 예술치료, 정보보안 등 34개 학과 정규 4년제 과정을 원격으로 수강할 수 있는 혜택이 주어진다고 전했다.

양주시 관계자는 “이번 협약을 통해 포스트 코로나 시대를 살아가는 시민 누구나 원하는 교육을 받을 수 있는 학습환경을 제공하게 될 것”이라며 “우리시와 서울디지털대학교가 상호발전할 수 있는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
