[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1월 3일 (재)의정부시평생학습원은 의정부의 역사와 문화가 담긴 마을 이야기를 전 세대가 즐길 수 있는 그림책으로 제작하여 출간했다고 밝혔다.

의정부학의 일환으로 제작된 ‘그림책으로 만나는 의정부 전래동화’는 (재)의정부시평생학습원에서 양성한 ‘의정부학 동화작가’가 마을에서 전해 내려오는 ‘의혜 공주와 숯장수’ 및 ‘샘터 도깨비’ 2종을 발굴하여 그림책으로 창작했다고 전했다.

‘의혜 공주와 숯장수’는 백성을 존중하고 귀하게 여겼던 의혜 공주의 참된 용기를, ‘샘터 도깨비’는 샘터에 얽힌 도깨비와 할머니의 우정을 담은 이야기로 옛날부터 지역에서 전해져 내려오는 이야기라고 했다. 

‘그림책으로 만나는 의정부 전래동화’는 시민 누구나 접할 수 있도록 관내 초등학교 및 공공도서관 등에 배포할 예정이며, QR코드를 연계하여 의정부시평생학습원 유튜브 채널에서도 보고 들을 수 있는 전자책으로 제작했다고 했다.

송원찬 평생학습원장은“의정부 전래동화를 통해서 관내 어린이 뿐만 아니라 모든 시민들이 삶의 터전인 의정부의 역사와 문화에 더 관심을 갖고 지역에 대한 자긍심이 향상되는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
