[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 5일부터 8일까지 재단법인 의정부시평생학습원(이하 학습원)은 순천시에서 개최하는 제7회 대한민국 평생학습 박람회에 참가했다고 밝혔다.

교육부가 주최한 이번 박람회는‘평생학습! 내 삶의 미래를 찾다’라는 주제로 전국 351개 평생학습 기관 및 단체가 참가했으며, 학습원은 의정부시를 대표하여 평생학습 우수 사례를 알리고 의정부시 명소를 VR로 체험할 수 있는 홍보관 및 체험관을 운영한다고 했다.

특히 최초로 장애인평생학습도시 통합관이 운영되어 의정부시를 포함한 전국 26개 장애인평생학습도시가 참가했으며, 학습원은 AI로봇활용 등 장애인에게 특화된 체험 프로그램을 제공한다고 했다.

또한 개막식에서 진행된 시상식에서 의정부시는 2021년 평생학습도시 재지정 평가 우수평생학습도시로 선정되어 송원찬 의정부시평생학습원장이 수상하면서 평생교육 전문기관으로 자리매김 했다고 전했다.

송원찬 원장은“의정부시의 우수한 평생교육 프로그램을 전국에 널리 홍보하고, 타 도시의 우수 사례를 벤치마킹하여 우리시 특성에 맞는 발전된 평생학습 환경 조성을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
