지난 2019년부터 시작된 청정계곡 시민 환원 사업은 석현천 일원 장흥계곡을 시민들이 쾌적하고 안전하게 즐길 수 있는 청정계곡으로 복원하기 위해 지난해 하천·계곡부지 내 불법시설물 철거를 시작으로, 하천계곡 불법행위 근절대책을 비롯한 청정계곡 복원지역 종합지원을 위해 ‘장흥계곡 시민환원 TF 추진단’을 구성, 상인회와 지역주민 등의 의견을 수렴해 다양한 사업을 추진해왔다고 전했다.
