[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양양군이 본격적인 농사철을 앞두고 농업인들의 안정적인 영농과 생산비 절감을 위해 농기계 임대사업을 확대 추진한다고 밝혔다.

군은 495㎡ 규모의 농기계 임대 창고를 효율적으로 운영하기 위해 농기계임대사업소 본소를 손양면 송현리 일대 6,024㎡에 이전할 계획으로, 총 16억원 '국비 4억, 도비 8천 군비 11억 2천'의 사업비를 투입해 1,155㎡ 규모의 농기계임대사업소를 신축할 예정이며, 또 5,176㎡ 부지에 ‘농기계 안전교육장’을 수시 운영해 농업인들의 농기계 안전사고 예방과 작업효율을 향상시켜 나갈 계획이라고 전했다.

아울러 지난해부터 양양군 마늘 시범사업을 추진함에 따라 군비 7억6천만 원을 투입, 마늘 파종기 및 수확에 관련 농기계 등 12종 42대를 추가확보 할 예정이며, 군은 내달 15일, 손양면 송현리에서 진행되는 농기계 안전교육을 시작으로 봄 영농철 농기계 임대사업을 본격적으로 추진한다는 방침이라고 했다.

군 관계자는 “농가 일손부족을 해소하고, 고가의 농기계 구입 부담을 덜어주기 위해 농기계 임대사업을 확대 추진하고 있다”며, “농기계 임대사업소 권역화로 접근성을 개선해 이용률과 만족도를 높여가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 군은 임대농기계 사업과 함께 농기계 보유 농업인들이 필요한 시기에 수시로 농기계수리서비스를 지원받을 수 있도록 관내 10개 농기계 수리업체에 지정 위탁하여 농기계 수리비 지원 사업을 추진 중이며, 특히, 올해부터는 고장 농기계 부품비 지원규모를 45만원에서 최대 60만원으로 15만원 상향해 수혜를 강화해 나가기로 했다고 전했다.
