[김준호 기자 = 삼척시] 삼척시가 세계적인 한류 스타 방탄소년단의 맹방해변 BTS 포토존 시설 재정비를 완료했다. 

시는 지난해 7월 맹방해변에 설치된 BTS 버터 앨범 재킷 촬영 컨셉인 ▶파라솔 ▶썬베드 ▶비치발리볼대 ▶서핑보드 등을 복원하며 BTS 아미들의 대표적인 성지순례 장소가 되었다. 

기존의 포토존은 일반 파라솔 등 촬영 소품을 그대로 재현한 것으로 모래, 해풍 등에 잦은 훼손으로 관광지 미관 저해 등 유지 관리가 어려워 이번에 5천만 원의 예산을 투입하여 스테인리스 재질의 안전하고 견고한 고정시설물로 교체를 마쳤다. 

지난해 설치된 BTS 포토존은 코로나 팬더믹 이후 관광객들은 물론 국․내외 BTS 아미들의 방문도 꾸준히 이어지고 있으며 10월 29일에는 일본인 관광객 40명이 방문할 예정이다.

삼척시는 BTS 포토존의 주변 환경 추가 정비와 관광객들의 반응을 분석해  국내 인바운드 여행사를 대상으로 선제적으로 홍보 마케팅을 추진하는 등 포토존을 새로운 관광 자원으로 활용할 계획이다.
