[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 14일 포천시는 택시운수 종사자의 근로 복지 여건을 개선하기 위해 군내면 하성북리 일원에 택시쉼터를 신축하고 준공식을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

포천시는 시민의 발이 되는 택시운수 종사자에게 휴식 공간을 제공함으로써 근무 여건을 향상시키고 동시에 시민들에게도 더 나은 서비스를 제공하는 효과를 가져올 것으로 기대하고 있다고 했다.

택시쉼터 준공식에는 박윤국 포천시장을 비롯해 최춘식 국회의원, 이철휘 더불어민주당포천가평 지역위원장, 포천모범운전자회장, 포천개인택시조합장 등 약 60여명이 참석해 택시쉼터 준공을 축하했다고 전했다.

박윤국 포천시장은 “택시쉼터가 포천시민의 안전한 택시 이용과 교통서비스 만족도 제고에 큰 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다.”라며 “교통환경개선을 위해 택시운송업계와 상생과 발전을 위한 다양한 사업을 모색해 나가겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
