[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시 오는 6일부터 매주 토요일 서울 도심을 오가는 이용객들의 편의와 이용수요가 증가함에 따라 G1300번 이층 버스 2대를 포함해 총 3대를 증차한다고 밝혔다.

G1300번 버스 현재 주말과 공휴일 10~20분의 배차간격으로 운행되고 있으나 최근 옥정신도시 입주 등 이용수요가 가파르게 증가함에 따라 증차 필요성이 제기됐다.

양주 덕정역을 출발해 옥정지구와 고읍지구, 의정부 민락IC를 거쳐 구리∼포천 고속도로를 경유, 서울 잠실역 환승센터까지 이른 시간에 진입할 수 있는 노선이다. 

이에 시는 경기도, 의정부시 등 관련기관과의 협의를 통해 오는 6일부터 G1300번 버스를 토요일에 증차 운행하기로 결정했고, 평일 18대 8~15분, 토요일 16대 10~15분, 일요일 및 공휴일 13대 10~20분의 간격으로 운행된다.

시는 이번 토요일 증차 운행으로 배차간격 단축, 차내 혼잡도 완화 등 이용객의 교통불편이 해소될 것으로 전망하고 있다.

시 관계자는 “G1300번 토요일 3대 증차 운행을 통해 주말에 서울로 나가는 시민들의 광역교통 이용 편의성이 증대될 것으로 기대된다”며 “앞으로도 시민들이 더 많이 더 자주 이용할 수 있도록 대중교통 서비스 향상을 위해 노력할 것”이라고 말했다.
