[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 2월 9일, 양구군은 지속가능한 탄소중립 사회의 실현을 위한 협력을 강화하기 위해 한국수력원자력(주) 한강수력본부(춘천댐) 대회의실에서 화천군, Net Zero 2050 기후재단, 한국수력원자력(주) 등과 업무협약을 체결한다고 밝혔다.

협약식에는 조인묵 양구군수와 최문순 화천군수, 장대식 Net Zero 2050 기후재단 이사장, 정재훈 한국수력원자력(주) 사장 등이 참석할 예정이라고 했다.

특히 정기적으로 워킹 그룹(Working Group)을 운영해 협력체계를 구축하고, 필요한 경우 협약 당사자 간 협의를 통해 유관기관의 전문가를 워킹 그룹에 포함할 수 있도록 했다고 전했다.

협약에 따라 양구군 등 협약 당사자들은 기후, 환경, 에너지 문제의 해결을 위한 실천행동에 참여하고, 탄소중립과 지속가능한 발전을 위한 지역 공동사업을 추진하며, 기후변화 대응을 위한 정보교류와 교육, 캠페인 등 공익적 활동을 전개하게 된다고 했다.
