[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 13일 포천시의회는 의회사무과 직원 16명에게 임용장을 교부했다고 밝혔다.

이날 임용장을 받은 의회사무과 직원들은 32년 만에 전부 개정된 지방자치법에 따라 의장이 지휘·감독하고, 임명·교육·훈련·복무·징계에 관한 사항을 처리하는 첫 의회 소속 공무원이 됐다고 했다.

이에 앞서 포천시의회는 인사권 독립을 위한 TF팀을 구성하고 지방자치법 개정에 따른 하위 자치법규에 대한 제·개정 및 의회 소속 직원 구성 등 필요사항을 추진해왔으며, 지난해 12월 16일 인사권 독립의 효율적인 추진을 위한 업무협약을 포천시와 맺었다고 전했다.

의장 직무대리 송상국 부의장은 “지방의회 인사권 독립 등 의회의 권한과 위상이 강화됨에 따라 책임도 커졌다”면서 “지방자치법 개정사항에 적극 대응하기 위해 사무기구·조례 정비, 의원·직원 교육 등을 통해 의회의 전문성을 높이고 시민과 공감하고 신뢰받는 의회를 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
