[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 23일 양주시는 양주시 제6대 자원봉사센터장에 김용훈 前 양주시 기획생정실장을 제6대 센터장으로 선임하고 임용장을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

김용훈 신임 센터장은 1987년 양주군 산업과에서 공직생활에 입문, 2013년 7월 지방행정사무관으로 승진해 양주1동장, 시민소통담당관, 미디어정보담당관, 회계과장, 자치행정과장 등을 역임했으며 2019년 1월 지방행정서기관으로 승진해 복지문화국장, 교통안전국장을 거쳐 기획행정실장을 끝으로 지난해 12월 31일 공직생활을 마쳤다고 했다.

김 센터장은 그간 공직에 있으면서 진솔하고 탁월한 리더십으로 동료 직원들에게 귀감이 된 바 있으며 센터장의 임기는 2022년 2월 23일부터 2024년 2월 22일까지 2년이라고 했다.

김 센터장은“지난 35년 공직생활에서 얻은 다양한 경험을 바탕으로 나눔을 실천하는 자원봉사자들과 함께 활발히 소통해 나가면서 모든 역량을 최대한 발휘하겠다”며“시대적 변화와 욕구에 맞게 주민주도 자원봉사 영역을 확대해 나가는 등 양주시 자원봉사센터의 내실있는 운영으로 변화와 성장을 이끌어 나가겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

이성호 시장은“코로나 19 장기화가 불러온 위기를 봉사의 힘으로 극복하고 도움의 손길이 필요한 우리 이웃들에게 희망을 심어주는 등 지역사회 문제해결 및 자원봉사활성화에 큰 역할을 해주길 바란다”고 말했다.
