이번 행사는 2021년 경기도 문화의 날 문화예술 지원사업의 일환으로 장기간 지속된 코로나19로 지친 시민들이 크리스마스 연말 분위기를 만끽하며 다양한 문화예술 프로그램을 체험할 수 있도록 마련했다고 전했다.

관람객들은 조각공원에 설치된 AR모형을 스마트폰으로 비추면 그림책 속 이야기가 펼쳐지는 ‘신비한 여행’ AR 스토리북을 체험할 수 있으며, 장욱진의 작품에 등장하는 동물, 아이 등의 소재를 눈으로 조각한 장욱진의 ‘눈 조각 마을’을 감상할 수 있다고 했다.

특히 미술관 외벽을 배경으로 장욱진의 작품세계를 모티브로 한 미디어파사드와 빛 조형 작품을 전시하는 ‘밤이 들려주는 이야기’는 장욱진의 예술세계를 다양하고 입체적으로 조망할 수 있는 프로그램으로 이번 행사의 대미를 장식할 것으로 주목받고 있다고 했다.

미술관은 현재 전시 중인 기획전 ‘꽃이 웃고, 작작 鵲鵲 새가 노래하고’와 상설전 ‘장욱진 에피소드 Ⅱ’를 방문객 누구나 관람할 수 있도록 무료로 개방하며, 행사 기간 동안 미술관과 조각공원을 방문하는 아동·청소년에게 ‘빛으로 비추는 화가 장욱진’ 교육키트를 배부할 예정이라고 전했다.
