본 공연을 기획한 가평청년문화예술기획단 ‘담다’의 이현 대표에게 공연을 제작에 대한 소감을 물었다. “이번 작품은 저와 어머니의 내용을 모티브로 만든 내용이고, 많은 주민들이 공감할 수 있는 가족이야기이다. 가평에 살면서 처음으로 낭독극을 올리기 때문에 굉장히 설레고 떨린다.” 하며 대표 본인의 가족이야기가 모티브가 된 만큼 지역주민들에게 좀 더 공감되고 따뜻한 감동을 선사하고자 많은 시도와 리서치를 거친 작품이라며 소감을 더했다.

이에 '낭독뮤지컬 컬러칩쿠키즈'를 연출한 연보라 감독은 “아들의 대학졸업식에 학사모를 쓰고 사진 찍은 그 순간이 세상에서 가장 기쁜 순간이라고 말하는 엄마의 사랑이 듬뿍 담긴 음성 메세지를 듣고 감명 받아 그 메세지를 모티브로 극적인 요소들을 추가해 ‘컬러칩 쿠키즈’를 써내려갔다. 기쁠 때나 슬플 때나 온힘을 다해 사랑을 주시는 당신의 엄마를 떠올리며 이 극을 보시기를 바란다.”고 덧붙였다.

'낭독뮤지컬 컬러칩쿠키즈'는 2021년 가평군 문화예술 발전기금 지원 사업에 선정되어 제작한 공연으로 작은 소품부터 대본, 뮤지컬 넘버 까지 직접 모두 창작된 창작낭독뮤지컬로 연보라 감독의 손이 닿지 않은 곳이 없는 작품이라고 전했다.
