관내에는 가출이나 성매매, 가정 및 학교폭력 등 위기상황에 노출된 위기 청소년들을 보호하고 돕는 역할을 하는 일시보호소와 쉼터가 없어 타지역 쉼터를 이용해야 하고, 코로나19로 비대면이 확대되면서 위기 청소년 발굴의 사각지대를 키웠으며, 사회적 거리두기가 청소년 쉼터 입소에도 적용되면서 안전하게 보호받을 기회가 줄어들게 됐다고 했다.

이에 포천시청소년상담복지센터는 관내 민간 숙박업소인 탑모텔과 업무협약을 체결하며, 위기청소년 발생 시 일시보호소의 역할을 담당할 수 있도록 안전장치를 마련했다고 전했다.

포천시청소년상담복지센터와 탑모텔은 긴급지원이 필요한 청소년에게 숙식을 제공하는 등 실질적인 도움을 지원하고, 위기 청소년들을 발굴·구조하는 일에 공동체적 책임의식을 가지고 상호 협력하기로 했다고 했다.

센터 관계자는 “관내 위기청소년의 발굴과 지원을 위해 노력할 것이며, 도움이 필요한 청소년들에게 신속하고 체계적이며 지속적인 지원이 될 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
