[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 5일 위기청소년을 안정된 공간에서 보호하고 가정과 사회 복귀를 위한 기초 서비스를 지원하는 원주시 여자단기 청소년쉼터 개소식이 열렸다고 전했다. 

이번에 문을 연 청소년쉼터 ‘샤인’의 정원은 총 15명으로, 가족기능이 상실돼 안정적인 보호가 필요한 청소년을 최대 9개월간 보호할 수 있다고 했다.

생활 지원 및 정서적 지원 외에도 지역사회 유관기관과 협력체계를 구축해 심리상담, 의료와 학업 등 맞춤 서비스를 지원해 건강한 청소년으로 성장하도록 돕게 된다고 했다.

원주시 관계자는 “도움이 필요한 청소년들을 따뜻하게 보듬어 줄 수 있는 공간으로 자리매김하도록 노력하겠다.”라고 말했다.
