꿈드림 학원비 지원 사업이란 복지대상가구(기초생활수급자, 차상위계층, 법정 한부모) 자녀를 대상으로, 예체능 부문(음악, 미술, 체육, 무용 등) 및 컴퓨터 학원비를 매달 지원해주는 사업이며, 올해 10월부터 지원비가 기존 월 5만원에서 월 7만원으로 확대되며, 지원기간은 최초 지원일로부터 2년이라고 했고, 다만, 스포츠강좌이용권 과목이나 드림스타트 학원연계강좌 수강자는 지원 대상에서 제외된다고 했다.

최용덕 동두천시장은 “이번 사업 확대를 통해 저소득층 가구의 교육비 해소와 더불어 아동들이 특기적성에 맞는 교육기회를 제공받기를 바란다”고 전했다.
