[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 홍천군은 군(軍) 장병의 자기개발 및 안정된 군 생활을 돕기 위해 관내 주둔 군 장병들을 대상으로 동아리 활동을 지원하고 있다고 밝혔다.  

코로나19로 인해 2년 동안 잠정 중단되었지만 올해에는 남면 3기갑여단과 화촌면 20기갑여단 부대원들이 한국사, 영어, 일본어, 탁구, 미술, 컴퓨터 자격증 등 다양한 분야의 동아리를 신청해 선정됐다고 전했다.

‘군(軍)의 군민화(郡民化)’에 기여하고자 지난 2015년부터 시작된 군 장병 동아리 지원 사업은 올해로 7년째를 맞고 있으며, 동아리 활동은 코로나19 상황과 훈련일정을 고려, 대면과 비대면(온라인)을 병행해 매주 1회 2시간씩 진행될 예정이라고 했다.

군 동아리는 부대원 10명 이상으로 구성해 외국어, 문화예술, 인문과학, 요리, 공예 등 다양한 분야에 신청 가능하며, 군부대에서 동아리 활동장소 제공과 예하부대의 동아리 구성현황을 파악·선별해 강사 지원을 요청하면 홍천군은 강사 섭외 및 강사료를 지원하고, 군(軍) 장병 대상 동아리 활동에 현재까지 64개 동아리를 지원, 900여명이 참여했다고 전했다.

심금화 교육과장은 “군(軍)도 우리 군민이라는 인식으로 추진하고 있는 ‘군(軍)의 군민화(郡民化)’ 운동을 통해 상호 협력하면서 향후 재능 있는 장병들의 재능기부를 통한 홍천군 평생학습의 활성화와 군(郡)과 군(軍)의 상생발전을 유도할 계획”이라고 말했다.
