[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 21일 백영현 포천시장은 포천-철원 고속도로 조기 착공을 비롯한 포천시의 각종 현안사업 추진을 위한 범시민 대책위원회(이하 범대위)를 출범과 회의에 참석했다고 밝혔다.

포천시의 30여개 단체가 참석한 가운데 열린 이날 위원회는 범대위 출범과 함께 회의를 진행했으며 위원장은 총 3인으로, 대표위원장에는 포천시의회 서과석 의장이, 공동위원장에는 채수정 이통장연합회장과 박견영 주민자치연합회장이 선출됐고 부위원장 등 기타 임원은 추후 위원장이 임명하기로 결정했다.

한편, 포천시는 오는 23일 포천-철원 고속도로 조기 착공을 위해 지역구 국회의원, 의회 및 철원군과 함께 업무협약을 체결하고 중앙정부에 건의하는 등 포천시 발전을 위한 활동을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.

백영현 포천시장은 “포천-철원 고속도로는 수도권 북부지역의 균형발전을 위해 추진하는 사업이다. 고속도로 건설로 인해 지역상권이 쇠퇴하거나 소외되는 지역이 없도록 고속도로와 연계한 지역개발을 적극적으로 추진하겠다.”고 말했다.

서과석 의장은 “15만 포천시민의 의견을 적극 수렴해 포천시의 각종 현안사업이 원활히 추진될 수 있도록 시민과 함께 공동 대응하겠다.”고 전했다.
