의정부시는 일제단속의 날에는 자동차세 3회 이상 체납이거나 체납 발생일 60일 이상 경과한 차량 관련 과태료(세외수입) 30만 원 이상 체납한 자동차를 대상으로 자동차 번호판 영치를 실시하며, 3회 이상 자동차세 체납 차량은 차량 등록지와 관계없이 전국 모든 지자체에서 번호판 영치가 가능하고, 단 코로나19로 어려운 국민들의 상황 등을 고려해 영업용 차량은 5회 이상 체납일 경우에만 단속하기로 했고, 일제단속의 날에는 지방세 및 차량 과태료의 관련 부서와 의정부경찰서가 합동으로 차량이 많은 주택가, 아파트단지, 다중밀집지역 등을 순회하면서 영치 활동을 할 계획이라고 했다.
