[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 평창군자원봉사센터가 평창올림픽을 빛낸 자원봉사자를 지속 육성하고 자원봉사 정신을 계승·발전하기 위한 공모 지원사업 추진에 박차를 가하고 있다고 밝혔다.

센터는 지난 6월부터 올해 말까지 새마을회, 생활개선회, 향우회, 고향을생각하는주부들의모임, 자율방범대 등 지역 15개 단체와 협력하여 이웃반찬나눔, 취약가정 노후 LED교체 등 지역마다 필요한 맞춤형 자원봉사를 지원하고 있다.

이번 사업은 2024년 평창에서 개최되는 ‘2024 강원청소년올림픽’에 앞서 분위기를 붐업시키고 자원봉사자의 역량을 강화하는 데에도 그 목적이 있으며 가로수에 올림픽의 상징인 오륜색의 뜨개옷을 입히는 ‘그래피티 니팅’으로 올림픽 성공개최의 노력과 성과를 기억하고 기념하는 친환경 거리예술도 선보일 예정이다. 

평창군자원봉사센터 관계자는 “앞으로 평창에서 개최되는 국제행사뿐만 아니라 지역의 크고 작은 봉사현장에서도 올림픽에서 평창의 자원봉사자가 보여준 저력이 기억되고 발휘될 수 있도록 자원봉사 문화조성에 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.
