지난해 평창군에서 생산된 절임배추 출하량은 8,581ton, 판매실적은 106억 원을 달성했는데, 절임배추 출하량은 7,606톤에서 8,581톤으로 13% 증가하였으며, 농가 직거래가 26억에서 40억으로 55%가량 급증하여, 총 판매금액은 80억 원에서 106억 원으로 31.6%가 증가했고, 이에 올해 평창군은 절임배추시장의 경쟁이 심화될 것으로 예상함에 따라, 관내 절임배추의 경쟁력을 확보하기 위하여 총 2억 원의 사업비를 들여 ‘절임배추 가공시설 지원사업’을 추진하고, 기존에 추진하던 절임배추 고품질화 지원사업은 ‘군수품질인증제 농가 포장재 지원사업’으로 통합하여 추진한다고 전했다.
