[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시는「중대재해처벌법」이 1월 27일부터 시행되면서「유통산업발전법」제2조제3호의 대규모점포가 「중대재해처벌법」에 따른 중대시민재해 대상인 공중이용시설에 해당됨에 따라‘이마트 속초점’과‘농협하나로마트엑스포점’2개소를 대상으로 안전 점검을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

「중대재해처벌법」은 사업 또는 사업장, 공중이용시설 및 공중교통수단을 운영하거나 인체에 해로운 원료 제조물 취급 시 안전·보건 조치 의무를 위반해 인명피해를 발생하게 한 사업주, 경영책임자, 공무원 및 법인에 대한 처벌 등을 규정한 법이라고 했다. 

관내에서는 전통시장을 제외한‘이마트 속초점’,‘농협하나로마트엑스포점’,‘아남프라자’3개소가 해당되나,‘아남프라자’는 현재 상시근로자가 50명 미만인 사업장에 해당되어 오는 2024년 1월 26일까지 법 적용이 유예된다고 했다.

속초시에서는 사업장 내 필요한 안전 인력 확보 및 안전 예산 편성, 안전 점검 계획 수립·수행 등 안전보건관리체계 구축 및 이행에 관한 조치 의무사항을 안내하고, 위탁 점검을 포함한 안전·보건 관계법령 의무 이행 점검 여부와 안전관리자·종사자 교육 이수 여부 등을 집중 점검한다고 전했다.

속초시 관계자는 "안전 점검을 통해 안전사고를 예방하고, 대규모점포 이용객에게 안전한 쇼핑환경을 제공할 수 있도록 「중대재해법」 안내 및 지도에 만전을 기울이겠다.”라고 말했다.
