[서종협 기자 = 태백시] 태백시(시장 이상호)는 12일 시청 대회의실에서 전 직원을 대상으로 지난 1월 27일 부터 시행된 '중대재해처벌법' 이해를 돕기 위해 한국산업안전보건공단 신원기 강원동부지사장이 강연했다고 밝혔다.

이상호 태백시장은 “우리 모두가 철저한 책임 의식을 갖고 의무를 이행할 때 재해는 예방될 수 있다”며, “오늘 교육이 시민과 종사자 모두가 안전하고 행복한 도시 태백 조성의 초석이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

한편, 태백시는 상반기에도 중대재해처벌법 시행에 따른 산업안전보건관리 특별교육과 직원교육을 실시한 바 있으며, 부서별 연찬회를 통해 직원들의 안전‧보건 역량을 강화하고 있다.

시는 중대재해처벌법에 대한 관심도 제고 및 이해도 향상, 생명과 안전을 최우선 가치로 하는 시정 운영을 위해 지속해서 교육과 업무 연찬을 시행할 계획이다.
