[김현우 기자 = 강릉] 강릉시는 가스사용량이 많아지는 동절기를 대비하여 관내 가스공급시설 68개소에 대해 오는 30일까지 한국가스안전공사 강원영동지사와 합동 안전점검을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이번 안전점검은 현지 확인점검으로 LPG충전소의 안전설비 이상유무, 불법용기 보관 등 안전관리규정의 전반적인 이행실태를 점검하고, 공동주택의 가스공급시설인 집단공급시설에 대하여 시설의 설치상태, 수요자시설 안전점검 및 비상상황 대응체계를 중점적으로 점검한다.

이번 점검결과에 따라 사고발생이 우려되는 시설은 즉시 개선 등의 보완조치를 하고, 사용 제한·금지 등의 사전조치를 통해 안전사고예방을 하고자 하며, 안전관리규정 미준수 등 법령위반 시설에 대하여는 행정지도 및 과태료 등의 행정처분을 실시할 예정이다.

강릉시 관계자는 “이번 안전점검을 통해 가스로 인한 각종 안전사고를 예방하여 시민의 안전을 보호하고, 연말연시 시기와 맞물려 공급자 및 사용자에게 안전사고예방 홍보활동을 강화하겠다”고 말했다.
