[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 국방부는 지난 11일 영중면 주민자치센터에서 영평사격장 군소음보상을 위한 지역주민의 의견수렴 및 측정 안내 주민설명회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 주민설명회는 국방부의 소음영향도 조사계획, 측정지점 선정 및 분석 등 기본설명과 질의응답 등을 진행했다.

군소음 보상은 각각의 군 사격장 및 비행장을 대상으로 2회에 걸쳐 소음측정 실시 후 국방부에서 소음대책지역을 지정·고시해 보상금을 지급한다. 

영평사격장의 경우 코로나19 영향으로 지난해 소음측정을 실시하지 못해 올해 하반기 중 소음측정을 실시할 계획이며, 소음피해 보상은 지역주민 의견수렴과 2회 소음측정 후 2024년 상반기 신청을 목표로 추진 중이며, 군소음보상법 시행 이후 소음측정 미 실시로 인한 기간(2020.11.27.~2023.12.31.)의 보상금은 소급 지급할 예정이다.
