[김준호 기자=삼척시] 삼척시 전통 민속행사인 영등제가 읍면지역에서 잇따라 열리고 있다.

지난 2월 20일 하장면 영등제례를 시작으로 원덕읍과 근덕면에서 마을주관으로 영등제례와 윷놀이 대회가 열렸으며 도계읍, 노곡면, 신기면에서도 영등제례가 개최된다.

삼척지역에서는 음력 2월 1일을 “영등날 또는 영둥날”이라 하며, 음력 1월부터 음력 2월까지 풍신(風神)에게 안녕과 풍년, 풍어를 기원하는 제를 올리고 농악놀이, 윷놀이 등 마을별 축제로 명맥을 이어오고 있다.

오늘 3월 6일 제41회 도계 영등제례가 긴잎느티나무 광장에서 열렸으며, 제례에는 단체장, 제례위원, 지역주민 등이 참여한 가운데 초헌관, 아헌관, 종헌관이 삼원제례로 진행됐다.

박수옥 문화홍보실장은 “고유한 문화적 가치를 지닌 영등제를 통해 주민이 화합할 수 있는 소중한 자리가 됐으면 한다.”고 전했다.
