[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시가 코로나19로 어려움을 겪고 있는 소상공인과 자영업자, 중소기업의 경제적 부담을 덜기 위해 상하수도 요금을 감면한다고 밝혔다.

기간은 7월부터 9월까지 3개월간 사용분이며, 사용요금의 50%를 일괄 감면한다고 전했다.

대상은 가정용과 공장용을 제외한 일반용과 욕탕용 업종을 이용하는 소상공인과 자영업자, 중소기업 등 1만 6천여 곳이며, 공공기관과 관공서, 금융기관, 학교, 군부대, 대기업 등은 제외된다고 했다.

총감면액은 상수도 11억 원, 하수도 5억 원 등 약 16억 원에 이를 것으로 예상되고, 감면액은 상수도와 하수도 각각 최대 50만 원이며, 수용가별 월평균 금액으로 환산하면 약 3만 3천 원으로, 3개월 동안 총 10만 원을 감면받는다고 했다.

수용가에서는 별도 신청 없이 7월 고지서부터 감면된 내용을 확인할 수 있다고 전했다.

원주시 관계자는 “물 사용량이 늘어나는 시기와 맞물려 감면 효과가 더욱 커질 것으로 기대한다.”라며, “소상공인과 자영업자, 중소기업에 도움이 되길 기대한다.”라고 말했다.
