[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 3월 31일, 평창군은 방림면 농기계임대사업소에서 농업기계화가 미흡하여 노동력 투입이 많은 밭작물 관련 신기종 농기계 연시 실습 교육을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이날 연시 기종은 승용 비닐피복기 2조식, 배추이식기, 감자파종 및 수확기, 무인트랙터 등 10종 30대를 현장에서 평가하였으며, 이는 농촌일손 부족을 해소하고 농산물 생산비를 절감하여 배추재배, 양배추, 브로콜리, 감자 등의 경쟁력을 강화하고자 진행되었다고 했다.    

최근 농촌에서는 본격적인 농번기에 일손 구하기가 어려운데, 특히 코로나19 바이러스로 외국인 근로자 유입이 단절되면서 일손부족 현상이 더욱 심각해진 이와같은 상황에서 배추 이식기 1대가 1일 2,000평 정도의 작업이 가능하여 10~20명분의 인력절감 효과를 발휘할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다고 전했다. 

향후 군 농기계임대사업소에서는 지역 내 농업에 적합한 농기계를 다양하게 구입하여 임대해 줌으로써 농가의 농기계 구입 부담을 줄이고, 밭농사 기계화율을 높여 인력으로 하던 농작업을 대체하여 인건비와 농산물 생산비를 절감하고 경제적인 우수 농산물을 생산할 수 있도록 추진할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
