[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 18일 동두천시 생연‧중앙동 도시재생 주민협의체가 두드림희망센터 3층 대회의실에서 '생연‧중앙동 도시재생 주민협의체 총회'를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

행사는 코로나19 예방을 위해 철저한 방역 수칙 준수 하에 진행되었으며 주민 30여 명과 행사를 축하하기 위해 최용덕 동두천시장이 참석했다고 전했다.

이날 두드림희망센터 대회의실에서 열린 총회는 '기념식(축사 및 표창)', '본 회의(주민협의체 경과보고, 생연‧중앙동 도시재생 주민협의체 운영규정 변경 및 임원 선출, 임원수락, 폐회선언 등)' 순으로 진행됐다고 했다.

생연중앙 도시재생 주민협의체 총회는 도시재생 활동 성과 공유 및 주민협의체 운영정관 개정(안) 승인, 협의체 임원진 선출, 기타 주민협의체 운영에 대한 최고 의사결정기구로 주민협의체 회원 모두가 참석하는 가장 큰 행사이며, 특히 경과보고시간에는 그간 협의체와 도시재생지원센터 그리고 동두천시가 합심이 되어 진행하였던 다채로운 성과들이 소개돼 참석자들의 공감을 얻었다고 했다. 

소규모도시재생 사업을 통해 진행된 생연동 604번지 일원 안전 마을 조성 활동, ‘우리동네 공구대여소’ 운영, 원도심 내 주거취약계층 대상 집수리 봉사, 노년층 대상 쉼터 의자 제작 보급 사업, 원도심 인근 환경정비 활동과 같은 성과사례들이 소개되었다고 전했다. 

제1기 생연‧중앙동 도시재생 주민협의체 대표에서 제2기에서도 재선출된 백광현 대표는 “그 전과 마찬가지로 주민과 함께 하며 더욱 살기 좋은 마을을 만들기 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다. 

최용덕 동두천시장은 “여민유지(與民由志) : 주민과 함께 원대한 뜻을 행하며 옳은 길을 가도록 힘써야 한다는 의미의 사자성어입니다. 저는 이 사자성어가 지난날 우리의 성과를 응축하는 말이자 앞으로 우리가 걸어갈 길을 함축하고 있는 말이라고 생각합니다. 우리는 지난 3년간 도시재생이라는 이름 아래에서 함께 걸어왔고 앞으로도 함께 걸어갈 것입니다. 지난 시간의 노고에 대해 감사드리며 오늘의 성과를 축하드린다”고 전하며“내년 생연‧중앙동 일원에서 추진할 도시재생 뉴딜사업이 다양한 주민의 의견수렴과 참여, 거버넌스를 통한 탄탄한 연대와 협력 속에서 시민이 만족하는 도시재생사업이 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
