[김택곤 기자=정선군] 정선군은 신청사건립 기본계획수립용역이 완료됨에 따라 14일 군청 대회의실에서 전 직원을 대상으로 최종보고회를 개최하고 의견을 수렴하는 자리를 마련했다.

군은 2019년부터 1년여간 군민 공론화 및 숙의 과정을 거친 후 공론화위원회에서 현 청사부지에 청사신축을 권고함에 따라 2021년 정선군의회 동의를 얻어 현 청사부지를 확정하였다.

1년여간 진행된 기본계획 용역 신 청사(의회포함) 규모는 지하 2층, 지상 6층(의회 지상3층), 연면적 29,324㎡(약8,870평)으로 총사업비 1,099억원이 소요될 것으로 추산하고 있다.

특히, 지하 1·2층을 포함한 총 471대 주차 공간은 정선 5일장을 찾는 관광객들에게 무료 개방하여 부족한 주차 문제를 해결할 계획이다.

또한, 노후된 문화예술회관을 철거함에 따라 지상1층에는 군민문화 공간으로 활용할 공연장을 비롯한 종합민원실, 전시장, 컨벤션룸, 북카페 등 군민 편의시설을 지상2층에는 군 지휘부와 각종 회의실, 지상3층에는 직원 및 군민 복지시설을 집중 배치하였으며, 지상4층부터 지상6층에는 각 과를 배치하여 민원인들의 편의를 도모하였다.

정선군은 2023년까지 행정안전부 타당성조사가 완료되면 주민설명회를 개최하고, 기획재정부 투자심사를 거쳐 2024년 설계공모 및 실시설계를 진행한 뒤 2025년 하반기 착공하여 2027년 6월까지 공사를 완료하고 2027년 8월부터는 신청사에서의 업무 개시를 목표로 사업을 추진하고 있다.
