[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시가 ‘시민은 하나로, 속초는 미래로’ 라는 슬로건 아래 출범한 민선 8기의 2023년 본격적 속초시정 목표 실현을 위해 이병선 속초시장 주재로 오는 12일부터 14일까지 3일간 시청 부속실 소회의실에서 '2023년도 주요업무 추진계획 보고회'를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 보고회는 속초시의 모든 부서와 시설관리공단이 참여해 공약사업, 시 승격 60주년 기념 시책, 신규시책 등 주요 시책을 보고하고 사업의 추진상황과 문제점 등을 점검하여 2023년 시의 정책 방향과 추진전략을 수립한다. 

주요 사업으로는 동서고속화철도 적기 완공, 역세권 개발사업 추진, 시청사 이전 추진, 공공하수처리시설 현대화사업, 탄소중립 녹색성장도시 기틀 마련, 어린이 영어도서관 건립 등이 있다.

이병선 속초시장은 “2023년도는 시 승격 60주년을 기념하는 해이자, 본격적으로 속초의 미래발전 청사진을 제시하고 실천하는 중요한 시기다.” 며, “이번 보고회에서 발굴된 사업은 다시 도약하는 속초의 출발점이 될 것이며, 시민이 체감할 수 있는 성과를 이룰 수 있도록 700여 공직자와 함께 최선의 노력을 다하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
