[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시는 행정안전부 주관 ‘2023년 특수상황지역개발 신규사업’ 공모에 총 6건의 사업이 선정돼 국비 87여억 원을 확보했다고 밝혔다.

이번에 선정된 신규사업은 내역사업 3건, 특성화사업 3건 등 총 6개다.

▶만송동 도시계획도로(대로3-46호선) 개설사업(32억원) ▶덕계저수지 수변공원 조성사업(24억원) ▶효촌리4 하수관로 정비사업(23억원) ▶우이령 입구 오봉마을 만들기 사업(4억원) ▶문화충전소 감악개나리골 사업(4억원) ▶방성2리 신촌동이마을 사업(4천만원) 등이다.

시는 지난해 21여억 원 규모의 사업비를 확보한 데 이어 올해는 전년 대비 4배 규모의 국비 사업 유치에 성공했다.

또한 2022년 특수상황지역 개발사업 평가에서 도내 지자체 3위로 선정돼 3억원의 재정 인센티브를 추가로 받게 되면서 균형 잡힌 지역발전을 위한 재정 기반을 마련했다는 분석이다.

양주시는 공모 선정에 따른 국비 확보를 통해 개발 소외 지역의 정주환경 개선과 지속 가능한 경제 활성화에 가속도가 붙을 것으로 내다보고 있다.

강수현 시장은 “이번 선정된 사업을 통해 양주시민들의 삶의 질 향상과 지역경제 활성화에 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 중앙부처와 지속적인 협의를 통해 차별화된 신규사업을 발굴하고 국비 확보를 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 특수상황지역 개발사업은 남북분단, 지리적 여건 등으로 지역발전에서 소외된 특수상황지역 주민의 복지증진와 지역발전을 도모하기 위해 국가균형발전 특별법에 따라 행정안전부에서 지난 2010년부터 추진하는 사업이다.
