[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 5일 동두천시는 오전 시청 상황실에서 2021년 국가안전대진단 중간점검 회의를 개최하고 점검이 완료된 시설에 대한 조치 결과를 공유하며 보수보강, 정밀안전점검이 필요한 시설에 대해서는 조치계획을 수립하도록 했다고 밝혔다. 

회의가 끝난 후 전진석 부시장은 종합운동장 시설물 현장점검에 참여했으며, 코로나19로 인해 그동안 시설 운영을 중단하였던 운동장은 소방, 전기, 건축 등 분야별 민간전문가 및 시설 담당자와 함께 점검을 실시했다고 전했다.

전진석 부시장은 “앞으로 일상으로의 회복이 본격화됨에 따라 시민의 안전과 직결된 시설에 대한 면밀한 점검을 실시하여 시민이 안전하게 이용할 수 있도록 해주시길 당부드린다”고 말했다.

국가안전대진단은 재난위험시설물로부터 시민의 소중한 생명과 재산을 보호하고 각종 안전사고를 사전 예방하기 위해 정부, 지방자치단체, 국민 등이 모두 참여하여 사회 안전관리 실태를 점검하고 진단하는 예방활동으로, 동두천시는 지난 10월 15일부터 오는 11월 12일까지를 대진단 기간으로 정하여 추진계획에 따라 부서별로 소방·전기·가스 전문인력과의 민·관 합동점검을 실시하고 36개의 소관 업무 시설을 점검하여 현지 시정조치하거나, 보수보강 및 정밀안전점검이 필요한 시설은 후속 조치계획을 수립하여 완료하고 시민에게 공개하도록 할 예정이라고 밝혔다.
