[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 10일 포천시는 시청 시정회의실에서 2021년 제1차 포천시평생교육협의회 정기회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

포천시평생교육협의회는 평생교육법 제14조에 따라 포천시민을 위한 평생교육 관련 사업 조정 및 유관기관 간 협력 증진을 위해 구성된 협의·조정기구라고 했다.

회의는 2021년 평생교육정책사업 현황보고와 평생학습 활성화를 위한 방안 토론 순으로 진행됐다고 전했다.

박윤국 포천시장은 “포천의 밝은 청사진은 끊임없는 자기개발과 자발적 학습을 통해 성장하는 시민들에 의해 견인될 것”이라며 이러한 학습력을 갖춘 시민을 배양하는 것이야말로 시의 책임과 역할임을 강조했다.

한편, 포천시는 2023년 개관을 목표로 포천시민 평생학습의 거점공간이 될 포천시 교육커뮤니티센터 건립에 박차를 가하고 있고, 또한, 평생학습마을 공동체사업, 은빛아카데미, 장애인 평생교육 프로그램, 신중년 인생대학, 학습동아리 및 학습공간 발굴사업, 學숲 체험교실 등 각계각층의 시민이 원하는 다양한 맞춤평 평생학습 프로그램을 운영·지원중이라고 했다.
