지역 문화재를 보존하기 위한 무형문화재 전수교육관 건립사업은 지난 2017년 9월 문화재청 지원사업에 선정되면서 시작됐다고 했다. 

전수교육관은 가산면 금현리 719-2 일원에 지상 2층, 연면적 499.05㎡ 규모로 총 사업비 23억원이 투입되며, 곳곳에 흩어져 있는 무형문화재 전수시설을 한곳에 모으고 교육과 전시, 체험, 공연을 체계적으로 지원해 문화재의 대중화와 관광 자원화에 기여하는 복합문화공간으로 조성할 계획이라고 했다.

박윤국 포천시장은 “전수교육관을 통해 지역 무형문화유산의 보존과 전승 환경을 개선하고 시민과 함께 전통무형유산을 즐길 수 있는 포천의 대표적인 문화공간으로 조성해 나가겠다.”고 말했다. 

한편, 포천시 무형문화재는 2000년 제1호 무형문화재인 포천 메나리와 2002년 포천 풀피리가 지정되어 있다고 전했다.
