[김택곤 기자=영월군] 영월군은 2월 10일 영월군산불대응센터에서 ‘산불전문예방진화대 발대식’을 개최하였다. 

공모를 통해 선발된 산불전문예방진화대원 58명은 산불예방 캠페인, 산림인접지역 무단소각 단속, 인화물질 사전제거, 산불 초동 진화 등의 임무를 수행한다.

이와 더불어 영월군은 봄철 고용을 확대하고 산불취약지 및 사각지대 중심의 감시를 위해 산불감시원 160명을 산불조심기간 이전에 선발 완료하고 산불조심기간 시작과 동시에 집중배치 산불예방 및 단속을 강화하고 있다.

영월군, 평창군과 산불진화임차헬기를 공동 운용하며 산불진화장비, 진화복 등 안전장비를 갖추고 산불 발생 시 신속한 현장 출동과 초동 진화에 만전을 기하고 있다.

정운중 영월군 산림녹지과장은 “봄철 산불은 영농폐기물, 논·밭두렁 소각으로 발생하는 사례가 많은 만큼 산림 인접지역 불법 소각 행위를 근절이 중요하다며 산불전문예방진화대 운영에 따른 산불 예방과 피해 최소화를 위한 초동대처에 만전을 기하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
