[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 5월 말까지, 의정부시시설관리공단은 의정부컬링경기장에서 매주 토요일 컬링 1일 체험 강습을 시범 운영한다고 밝혔다.
의정부시시설관리공단은 베이징 동계올림픽 이후 시민들의 컬링에 대한 관심에 발맞춰 남녀노소 누구나 쉽게 배울 수 있도록 안전교육, 컬링 이론 교육 및 체험까지 2시간 강습 프로그램을 마련하였다고 전했다.
강습료는 성인 기준 26,800원으로 의정부시민은 1/3을 할인하며, 시범 운영 기간 동안 컬링화, 브러쉬, 안전모 등 대여장비는 무료 지원하고, 강습은 시범 운영 후 참가자 의견을 수렴하여 개선 및 확대 시행을 검토할 예정이라고 했다.
임해명 이사장은 “의정부컬링경기장에서 컬링 강습 시범 운영에 최선을 다하겠으며, 앞으로도 지역 사회 건강을 책임지는 공공체육시설의 역할을 다하도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
