이번 발굴활동은 며칠 전 관내 68개소의 편의점과 연계한 복지사각지대 발굴계획 수립에 따라 실시됐고, 생활고와 경제적 어려움으로 인해 편의점에 폐기 예정인 식품을 요청하는 시민을 찾아, 복지서비스를 제공하는 것에 목적이 있으며, 이날 오후 처음으로 무한돌봄센터 직원들이 직접 불현동과 상패동에 소재한 편의점을 방문하여, 관계자들에게 복지위기가구 발굴 안내문과 전화번호 스티커를 배부하고, 위기상황이 의심되는 분들에 대한 적극적인 제보를 요청했다고 말했다.  

무한돌봄센터 관계자는 “오늘을 시작으로 연말까지 관내 편의점과 함께 위기가구 상시 발굴체계가 구축될 수 있도록 노력을 기울이고, 이를 계기로 발굴된 가구를 세심하게 살펴 지원하겠다”고 전했다.
