[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시가 국토교통부 시행 ‘2022년 중‧소도시 스마트시티 조성사업’ 공모에 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

인구 100만 이하 기초지자체의 지역 문제 해결을 위한 스마트 솔루션을 구축해 스마트도시 체감도를 향상하고자 진행된 이번 사업 공모에는 국토교통부와 한국토지주택공사의 서면 검토와 관련 분야 전문가 등으로 구성된 심사위원회의 발표 평가를 거친 후 의정부시 등 16개 지자체가 선정됐다고 했다.

의정부시는 의정부동 214번지에서 호원동 458번지 일원을 아우르는 사업 대상지를 선정하고 평화로, 중랑천 등 주요 기반 시설과 구도심 상권 지역을 연계해 지역 환경에 특화된 안전 관리 체계 강화 및 공공데이터 활성화, 디지털 상권 이용 환경 마련을 통해 도시공간을 혁신하고 시민 삶의 가치를 높일 계획이라고 했다.

사업 대상지 내 중랑천 약 4Km 구간에 다목적 AI 스마트 폴 및 스마트 게이트 등을 구축해 사물인터넷과 스마트 정보 체계를 연동하고 홍수 등 재난 위험 상황에 대한 즉각 대응체계 마련 및 정보 서비스 불평등 환경을 개선할 계획이며, 이를 통해 AI 영상 정보 분석 및 IoT 기반 수위 관측, 산책로 안전, 교량을 활용한 다중 정보 표출, 공중화장실 스마트 방역 등 하천 시설 인프라에 특화된 스마트도시 서비스를 제공한다고 전했다.
