이번 행사는 지난 6월 11개소, 8월 7개소 간식 지원에 이어 3번째 행사였고, 의정부시새마을부녀회는 코로나19로 어려운 시기에 지역아동센터 아동들이 잠시나마 즐거운 시간을 가질 수 있도록 간식 지원 행사를 마련했다고 했다.

한진숙 회장은 “자라나는 어린이들이 외부활동도 자유롭게 하지 못하는 상황이 안타깝다. 지역아동센터 아동들이 간식을 맛있게 먹고 건강한 몸과 마음으로 이 시기를 잘 이겨내길 바란다.”라고 당부했다.

한편 의정부시새마을부녀회는 간식지원뿐만 아니라 관내 지역아동센터에 ZOOM을 활용한 비대면 농촌체험활동도 지원하는 등 지역사회 아동복지와 돌봄에 큰 기여했다고 밝혔다.
