이번에 식재된 양배추꽃은 영하의 날씨에도 잘 견디는 강인한 초화류로 알려져 있어 코로나19로 인해 심신이 지쳐 있는 주민들에게 눈꽃송이처럼 탐스럽게 피어있는 정돈된 느낌이 큰 위안을 줄 것으로 기대되고, 특히 올해 장암동에서는 The G&B City 프로젝트와 연계하여 장암역, 석림사 주변, 장곡로, 서계로 일대 및 동주민센터 가드레일 난간 등 5개소에 사계절 정취에 맞는 페츄니아, 데모루, 천일홍, 국화, 양배추꽃 등을 식재함으로써 계절의 변화를 주어 거리마다 활력을 느낄 수 있도록 했다고 전했다.

박재범 장암동장은 “올해에도 지속되어 온 코로나19라는 힘든 상황 속에서도 아름다운 꽃길 조성에 힘써 주신 자생단체 회원들에게 감사의 마음을 전하며, 내년에도 화사하고 쾌적한 가로환경을 제공하도록 최선을 다해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
