[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 9월 28일 의정부시 장암동은 아름다운 마을 만들기의 일환으로 동 주민센터 앞 꽃길 조성사업을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 동 주민센터 직원들과 통장협의회 회원 36명, 바르게  살기위원회 회원 10명과 직원들이 코로나19로 일상에 지친 주민들의 마음을 위로하고자 동 주민센터 앞 가드레일에 국화 300여 본을 심어 아름다운 꽃길을 조성했다고 했다.

9월 한 달 동안 주민참여형 녹화사업을 추구하는 The G&B City 프로젝트의 취지에 맞게 통장협의회, 새마을지회, 바르게살기 등 여러  자생단체가 사회적 거리두기 수칙을 지키면서 소그룹으로 가을꽃인  국화를 장암역 및 상하촌 일대, 동아아파트 앞 등 960여본을 식재하여 아름다운 마을가꾸기 사업을 마무리했다고 했다.

박재범 장암동장은 “코로나19로 지친 일상을 치유할 수 있도록 아름다운 꽃길 조성에 참여해 주신 자생단체 회원들에게 감사의 마음을 전하며, 앞으로도 계속 The G&B City 프로젝트 단체별 입양 사업지에 많은 관심과 애정으로 가꾸어 주실 것을 당부드린다.”라고 밝혔다.
