[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 8월 13일 가평군 설악면행정복지센터는 명예사회복지공무원 10명이 ‘고위험가구 일촌맺기’를 통해 관내 폭염취약계층 12가구를 방문하여 안부를 전했다고 밝혔다.

설악면은 연일 지속되던 폭염과 코로나19 확산에 따라 폭염사각지대가 발생하지 않도록 취약계층가구를 방문하여 여름철 폭염 시 행동요령과 건강수칙 등을 알리며 안부확인 및 말벗지원 등을 해드렸다고 말했다.     

명예사회복지공무원 미○○는 “무더운 여름 자칫하면 온열질환에 걸려 고생하실 수 있어 걱정이 되었는데 직접 얼굴을 뵙고 안부를 확인하니 마음이 놓이며 별 탈 없이 남은 여름을 잘 나시길 바란다.”고 말했다.

이범주 설악면장은 “여름철 위기가구를 발굴․관리하는데 중요한 역할을 해주시는 명예사회복지공무원들께 감사드리며 주변 폭염취약계층이 안전한 여름을 보낼 수 있도록 종합적인 사회 안전망을 구축하는데 최선을 다 하겠다.”고 전했다.

한편 명예사회복지공무원은 주민이 자발적으로 참여하여 주변의 복지 위기가구를 능동적으로 발굴하고 지원하는 무보수 명예직의 지역 인적안전망으로 이 날 설악면행정복지센터에서는 참여하는 명예사회복지공무원들이 더욱 적극적인 활동을 할 수 있도록 가정방문 시 이웃돕기 물품으로 기탁 받은 특란, 생수, 설렁탕 등을 지원하였다고 했다.
